Timothy Carlton Rupp, 75, of Allentown died  Saturday ,December 28th, in St. Luke’s Hospital , Bethlehem.
He was born in Quakertown, son of the late Rev. William J. and Pauline (Stump) Rupp and a younger brother
of the  late William J. Rupp Jr.
Tim was a graduate of Parkland High School and was an agent for Railway Express Agency in Souderton until
called for service in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Carolinas and Georgia prior to a year with the 7th
Administration Company, Camp Casey, Korea.
He graduated from Ursinus College, majoring in history and was named Chapter Scholar by the faculty members
in his senior year. He did graduate study in church history at Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Massachusetts
and studied architectural history at Harvard University summer school. He was an instructor in  history at
Emerson College, Boston in the 1970’s.  He assisted with research for two books on television history by two
different authors.  He was self-employed in antiques and collectibles prior to his retirement in 2009.
Mr. Rupp grew up in the United Church of Christ congregations at  Trinity  Great Swamp, Spinnerstown; Jordon Church,
Walberts; and Zwingli Church, Souderton.  He regularly attended worship services at Phoebe Apartments, Allentown
where he lived and was known for his friendliness and helpfulness with fellow residents.
He is survived by his sister Barbara L. wife of Sidney Finkelstein of Safety Harbor, Florida; his sister-in-law Barbara S. Rupp,
Macungie; his niece Catherine R. Holm wife of Eric, their son Mason and daughter Madelin of Kutztown.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the 4th floor community room at
Phoebe  Apartments, 1901 W. Linden St., Allentown.
Private graveside services will be held at  Ziegels Union Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Phoebe Ministries, 1925 Turner St., Allentown, Pa. 18104.
