Thelma M. Herbert 97, formerly of Fredericksville Rd., Mertztown died December 17th in Brookmont Nursing Home, Effort, Pennsylvania, She was the widow of Harry H. Herbert who died May 15, 2001. She was born in East Greenville, a daughter of the late William F. and Carrie L. (Miller) Schofer. Thelma and her husband were farmers in the Topton area for many years , and she was a member of the Topton Grange. She is survived by a daughter Elizabeth A. wife of Noel Schlegel, Topton, two sons Willian W. husband of Nancy, Gilbert, Pa. Donald G husband of Deborah, Elizabethville, Pa. Fifteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the Edward J.Hildenbrand Funeral Home, 346 W, Main St., Kutztown, with the Rev. Lloyd H. Herbert officiating. Interment in Str. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pennsburg. Friends may call Tuesday 9:30 AM to time of service.
