Stanley L. “Grit” Koller 89, Kutztown, passed away April 5th in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Janice E. (Rhoads) Koller. They were married for 62 years. Born in Maxatawny Township, Grit was the son the late Lawrence S. and Helen M. (Miller) Koller. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for many years, where he enjoyed delivering the mail and meeting people. During his retirement years he served as a community service officer for the Borough of Kutztown and worked in his son’s store, Mr. Food. Grit was also a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown, and enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and spending time with this grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Bruce T. husband of Sally, Emmaus; Brian D. husband of Nancy, Kutztown; and Craig A., Kutztown, as well as grandchildren Jennifer Koller, Brent Koller and his wife Tara, and Brooke Koller, and great grandchildren Jordon and Sara, and sisters Radelle Swoyer, Jane L. wife of Arthur Frederick. Memorial services are on Sunday April 15th at 2 PM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 E. Main Street, Kutztown, with Rev, Mary Ann Hamm officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions maya be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Kutztown Area Historical Society, or Lehigh Valley Hospice.
