Richard C. Hersh, 86, of Lady Lake, Florida, died suddenly Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was the loving husband of Joan M. (Levan) Hersh. They were married 62 years in December. Richad and Joan were owners and operators of Hersh’s Markets for 27 years before retiring to Lady Lake Florida. Born in Allentown, he was a graduate of Muhlenberg College; a past president of the Allentown Kiwanis Club; a director for Lehigh Wholesale; and a past member of the Allentown School Board. He served in the US Navy during WWII; and is a member of Greenleaf Lodge #561, F&AM, Allentown. He was preceaded in death by a son Thomas C. and brother Earl James Hersh, Jr. He is survived by his wife Joan; daughter Diane, wife of Scott Kress; sons Richard C., Jr., husband of Cynthia, William, husband of Paula, Robert, husband of Jill; sister, Doris Biondi; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held May 18, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church, Florida. Private services will be held in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Thomas C.
