Randall Lee Reimert, 67, of Kutztown died Monday, January 3rd 2022 at home. His passing followed a long battle with cancer. Born in Allentown May 23, 1954 he was a son of the late Lloyd & Donna (Endress) Reimert.
A graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Randall served as a Marine from 1973-1977. His service was cut short by an injury sustained while serving in Guantanamo Bay. Randall joined the United States Postal Service in 1978. After a brief period studying at Kutztown University, he returned to the USPS as a Letter Carrier and retired after 27 years. He carried mail in the city of Reading and surrounding areas.
Randall is survived by his wife Jennifer (Peters). They would have celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary 1/20/22. He is survived by his son Jeremy (Mount Clare), daughters Katherine (Greenwich) and Kayleigh (at home). In addition to his parents, Randall was pre-deceased by his brother Craig. His son Jeremy from his first marriage gifted Randy and Jennifer with three granddaughters: Aubree, Brooke and Claire.
He is also survived by his brother Douglas (Virginville) and his sisters Diane (Allentown) and Susan Christman (Lenhartsville) as well as niece Desirae Christman (Lenhartsville) and nephew Nathan (Pottsville). Randall’s cousin David Tyson and his wife Deborah (Lyons) played an important role in his life as well as during his long illness. Family friends Michael Kohler and Kathy Kohler (Kutztown) did not meet Randall prior to his illness, but were an important component of his care. Many of Jennifer’s Alvernia University co-workers were also a great blessing during his hospitalizations and hospice care. In addition to his immediate family, Randall was close to his wife’s extended family and step-family.
Randy was a voracious reader and an accomplished carpenter and handyman. He became a successful home brewer. Once this was mastered, he switched to wine making. Other than his attempt at persimmon wine, he had many very successful bottlings. Contributions can be made in his name to Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospice. Services will be private at the convenience of the family with the assistance of the Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA. Online condolences can be made at www.hildenbrandfuneralhome.com.
