Ralph G. Sanner, 84, of Kutztown, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, of natural causes in the Berks Heim. He was the husband of Nancy M. ( nee’ Epler) Sanner. Born in Woodberry, NJ, a son of the late Harry G. & Clara L. (nee’ Budd) Sanner. He was pre-deceased by a half-sister, Helen Myers. He was a lifetime dairy farmer and a 50 year member of Lehigh Valley Dairy. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Grimville; Berks County Farm Bureau; the PA Farm Bureau; Blandon Sr’s; a former director of the Kutztown Fair Assn.; a former board member of the Dunkel’s Church Council; the Berks County and the State Holstein Assn; a committee member of the FSA of Berks County; and a longtime member of the PA Young Farmers. He was an officer of the Kutztown FFA, a Pennsylvania FFA state officer and a recipient of the Keystone Farmers Degree, and the American Farmers Degree in FFA. He was a commencement speaker and a member of the National Honor Society. Aside from his love of farming he was an avid gardener, and loved his rhubarb sauce. He could be found dancing on Saturday nights and watching sports; especially the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children: Christine L. (Herman) Danenhower, Kutztown; Lorrie E. (Joey) Arndt, Fleetwood; Kenneth D. (Denise) Sanner, Kutztown; six grandchildren: Jennifer Mercado, Peter Danenhower, Emily Arndt, Bradley Arndt, Ethan Sanner, and Brett Arndt; two great-grandchildren: Jameson and Gia. The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care he received during his short stay at Berks Heim. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11:30 AM from Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Rd., Kutztown, PA 19530. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 10 AM until time of service at the church.
