Mabel G. Geist 95 passed away in her Bowers residence May 27th .
She was the widow of Earl P. Geist who died May 27, 1996.
Mabel was born in Alsace Township a daughter of the late Aaron & Ella (Gehris) Weidner.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers, a member of the Lyons Fire Co. Aux., and
the Topton Legion Aux. for 51 years. Mabel worked for many years at the former Caloric Corp. Topton and also at
the former Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown.
She is survived by a son Sherwood and his wife Marcia, Kutztown, six grandchildren, Monika Bruns (Kevin),
Shelly Sherman (Troy), Kristen Hodgkins (Terry), Ricky Adams, Randy Adams who lived with her, Susan Ireland (John)
Six great grandchildren Lauren & Madison Bruns, Alex & Aiden Sherman, Nicholas & Casey Adams , and many
nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a son Gerald V. in 1947 and a daughter Sonja Adams in 1967. She was also pre-deceased
by brothers and Floyd, Harry, Elwood, Leroy, Howard, Paul, and Robert Weidner, sisters Helen Day, Ella Seyler,
Elsie Reppert.
Funeral services Monday June 1st at 11 AM in Hope Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Rd. Bowers, with the Rev.
Elizabeth Haines officiating. Viewing Monday 10 to time of service at the church. Interment in Bowers Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the church at the above address.
