Kathryn “Kelly” Blatt passed away on February 2, 2024. She was born June 3, 1950 in Reading, PA. She was the daughter of the late D. Charles and Hilda (Kistler) Blatt of Kutztown, PA. She was a 1968 graduate of Kutztown Area High School.
She was a member of the 437th Military Police unit during the Vietnam War era. She was stationed at Ft. Indiantown Gap when Saigon fell and refugees were brought to the US for resettlement.
After her Honorable Discharge, she worked in Campus Security for over twenty years at Gallaudet College for the Deaf and at Georgetown University. She ended her career at Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
Kelly is survived by her sister, Suzanne M. Barron, wife of Michael Barron of Kutztown and her brother, Charles K. Blatt, husband of Barbara Blatt of Topton, PA. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Pamela Sullivan (wife of Larry), James Meyer (husband of LaNeicia), Karin Hoffman (wife of Michael), and Natasha Combs (wife of Adam). She dearly loved her great-nieces and great-nephews: Dexter and Donovan Sullivan, Isaac and Bridget Meyer, Paul and Abby Stone, Ray and Megan Hoffman, and Nova and Meridian Combs. She will be sadly missed by her pets: Sammie and Perry.
At Kelly’s request there will be no funeral service, and interment will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
