Gloria L. Himmelberger, 89, of Kutztown, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was the loving wife of Charles K. Himmelberger for 69 years. Born in Longswamp Township, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Andora (DeLong) Brensinger. Gloria was a member of Zion Moselem Church and worked at Adidas as a sewing machine operator. Gloria also brought joy to the children whom she adoringly cared for in her home.

Gloria was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife, dedicated mother of three, loving grandmother of eleven and caring great grandmother of eleven. To know Gloria was to love her. She was affectionately known as ‘Mammy’ to many. Spending time with her family and reminiscing with friends made her happy. Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart, and desire to make everyone around her feel loved. ‘Mammy’ had a knack for making homemade Play-Doh to share with her grandchildren, playing board games, baking delicious apple and rhubarb pies to enjoy on many family get togethers, always being a cheerleader for her family’s accomplishments, her positive outlook on life, and going on a lifetime of  adventures with Charles, the love of her life. Gloria devoted her life to her family. Her hugs and "Love You"s were sunshine on a cloudy day. Gloria was one of a kind; irreplaceable. Gloria was an amazing example of what one should aspire to be. A role model, who's loving legacy will be echoed in the hearts of those she touched for years to come.

In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by daughters Cathy (Himmelberger) Schwab, wife of David Schwab, Fleetwood, Kay (Himmelberger) Gernert, wife of Jeffrey Gernert, Lenhartsville and son Ken Himmelberger, companion of Denise Reitnauer,  Mohnton; her grandchildren Tamara (Schwab) DeStasio, wife of William DeStasio, Richmond Hill, GA and their sons Joseph and Charles DeStasio, Derek Schwab, Fleetwood, Amy Gernert, Lenhartsville, and her son Caden Smith, Kelly (Gernert) Krick, wife of Adam Krick, Kutztown and their children Samuel, Emily, Caleb, Macen, Ella, and Adeline Krick, Jason Gernert, Lenhartsville, Jenni Gernert, Lebanon, Michael Gernert, husband of Jean Gernert, Lititz, Andrew Gernert, husband of Katie Gernert, Pennsburg and their son Lucas, Kevin Himmelberger,  companion of Kerry Duggan, Wynnewood, Kelsey (Himmelberger) Savini, wife of Zachary Savini,  and their daughter Sophia, and Kirstin Himmelberger, companion of Ronald Bartlett, Denver.
