Elizabeth Jane Quirk (nee Reiber) died November 5, 2013.  She was born December 5, 1923, in Johnstown, PA.  Jane was educated in the schools of Westmont Borough, Johnstown, PA and graduated from Westmont Upper Yoder High School in 1941.  She graduated from Seton Hill College, Greensburg, PA in 1945, with a BA degree in History and Psychology.  While in school she was a member of the Latin, Current Events, and Photography Clubs. Jane married Thomas C. Quirk, Jr., in Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Johnstown, PA on January 8, 1945.  Jane taught school in Canonsburg and Kutztown, PA.  She worked as a proofreader for Dun and Bradstreet.  She also worked for the PA State Unemployment Office in Allentown. Jane is predeceased by her parents, William and Leona Reiber, and by her sister Anne Medlin.  She is survived by her husband and children: Ellen Fraumann, of Madison, NJ; Ruth Tily (Gil) of Phoenix, AZ; Elizabeth Woods (Frank) of Loudonville, NY; Thomas III (Mary Connolley) of Highland Park, IL; Patrick (Mary Brandon) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Brian (Victoria Hobbs) of Naples, Italy.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, six nephews and one niece. Jane participated in Women’s Club area activities in Canonsburg and Kutztown, PA.  In Canonsburg she was involved with Brownies and Girl Scouts.  In Kutztown, she was a founding member of the Friends of the Kutztown Community Library.  She was involved in volunteer activities for the Women’s Club at the Kutztown Folk Festival, the Kutztown State College Faculty Wives, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  Reading was a big part of her life.  She looked forward to her yearly family vacations at the Jersey Shore and weekly bridge club with friends.  When possible, she loved to work in her flower garden.  Jane will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s RC Church, Kutztown, PA  19530.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call to visit with the family Friday, November 8, 2013 from 6-8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until time of Mass at the church.
