Anna Ruth Stein, 90, passed away peacefully in Allentown on Monday, September 28, 2015. Anna was born June 12, 1925, a daughter of the late Norman & Muriel (Tripp) Eberly. She graduated from Shillington High School and earned a degree in education from Kutztown State Teachers College. Anna danced in vaudeville from age 9-19, and taught elementary school in Reading and Allentown in her middle decades. In retirement she used her interests in genealogy and history, to dedicate many years volunteering and guiding the Pennsylvania German Heritage Center, which is now housed at Kutztown University. Anna was married to Alton Stein for 63 years. Alton preceded Anna in death March 25, 2011. She is survived by her children: Grover, husband of Claire, Doylestown, Susan, wife of Michael, Seattle, WA, and Richard, husband of Anita, Harrisburg; her grandchildren: Amanda, Courtney, Mary Elizabeth, Christopher, Jonathan, Matthew, and Taylor; and brother Norman Eberly. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 11 AM in Dunkel’s Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., with the Rev. Mary Ann Hamm, officiating.
